I visit to The Old School House was a different experience. We met several artists. Some of them were taking lessons while others we displaying their work. We had a look around the gallery which had all art that was 8" x 8". We all got to pick out our favourite and share why we liked it so much. The rock sculpture artist let us touch all of his work. We learned a bit about the artist in Qualicum Beach!
We had a visit with the Mayor of Qualicum Beach in the town chambers. They let Aidan wear the chain of office. We also met the community policing. They call people each day who are home alone to make sure they are OK. They put on the Teddy Bear's Picnic and they do kids ID programs.
The people at the Credit Union gave us a wonderful tour. They even closed the gates on the vault! Thank you to Judy, Beverly and Cathy.
We went to the Qualicum Beach Fire Department. Mrs. Philip got to dress like a fire person, we got to see the inside of a fire truck and we got to put out a fire with the fire hose. We were pretty lucky!
